Tea Garden
The Myung Won Tea Garden is located in the northernmost area of Hadong.
The tea garden on mountain hills is a well known for its vast wildly grown tea trees. A “Pu Jo” tree (Gyeongnam Monument No. 123) growing next to the garden is said to have been planted by the 6th century Zen tea scholar Choe Chi-won. A mountain river stream in front of the tea garden is where he washed his ears to leave behind the chaotic world and settled in Jirisan Mountain. The tea garden has long historical significance and one can feel the beauty of nature all year around with tea from the garden.
